Afrofuturism and Environmental Justice: Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Join Serve-Learn-Sustain, along with Arts@Tech, for a screening of Wanuri Kahiu’s “Pumzi” and Fabrice Monteiro’s  “The Prophecy”, two short films that explore environmentalism and Black Sci-Fi.  In the panel to follow, a discussion on how Black science fiction artists from the Americas, Africa, and beyond, use sci-fi as a tool for thinking about environmental justice.  Featuring artist DJ Spooky, former president of the Science Fiction Research Association, Georgia Tech Professor Lisa Yaszek, author and screenwriter Balogun Ojetade, and food justice warrior Ain Chike.
